Joined coastline San Pedro – Las Chapas

After almost 7 years, an ambitious programme will soon merge San Pedro de Alcántara in the west of Marbella with Las Chapas at its eastern border. The various existing “paseos” with additional beachside walkways and bridges will be joined into one beautiful coastline of 180 km. Perfect for walking & hiking at the beach.

Some of the constructions, such as the bridges at Rio Real and Rio Verde, have enhanced the appearance of the area, and also make various beach areas and chiringuitos much more accessible. The scheme is expected to cost a total of €10 million, but the expenditure will undoubtedly boast the Marbella economy and enrich the leisure experience of residents and visitors alike.
The second phase is currently in progress and the eastern end in Las Chapas is already completed. Local and global celebrity Antonio Banderas willingly sacrificed a wall at his Los Monteros beachside villa so that the pathway could pass by the bottom of his garden.
