Caminito del Rey

Follow the King’s footsteps. This is the highlight under all trips. A walkway, pinned along the steep walls of a narrow canyon in El Chorro, near Ardales in the province of Malaga, Spain. After four years of extensive repairs and renovations, the walkway re-opened in 2015. If you start your trip in Málaga City, take the A–357 motorway, and go towards MA-444, through the Municipalities of Cártama, Pizarra, Carratraca, and Ardales. This route is 59.1 km long, and it takes 50 minutes by car. In Pizarra, you can also go to Álora by motorway, and then along A-343 to the train station El Chorro. This route is a little bit longer – 60 km, and you will take a little more than one hour to get to your destination. The road is narrower and curvier than the previous one. There are coaches between the northern access (Ardales) and the southern one (El Chorro), which go in both directions. The tickets are available at a very reasonable price, depending on whether you have a transport card for the area of Málaga.  Thanks to the coaches, visitors who come to El Caminito del Rey Path will be able to go back to the start point along the MA-444 road.

Often referred to as Spain’s equivalent of Saint-Tropez in France, the area of the Costa del Sol and many of the beach clubs here are well known for their beauty, their beach parties and their greatest luxury. The start of the beach club season is now!

At Marbella’s many Beach Clubs, you can spend the entire day lounging on a sunbed with a cocktail, followed by an evening of luxurious dining and finally dancing through the night at some of the best parties on the Costa del Sol.

Although there are many beach bars (chiringuitos) along the beaches of Andalucia, a Beach Club is something more. A Beach Club typically has a swimming pool although is usually located directly on the beach with sun loungers to offers their guests the best of both worlds. Although, they are called ‘clubs’, you cannot become a member of a beach club. For some beach clubs there is an entrance fee, however for others you have to reserve a sunbed. Beach Clubs will usually charge a fee per sunbed, but will provide towels and water. They normally also have a restaurant and bar.

Those Beach Clubs that do not belong to hotels are normally only open during the summer season, from Easter until late September, but check the pages for individual opening times.

Well, it is not easy at all, as developer have to deal with complicate planning regulations, manage budgets, cash flow and large teams of builders, technicians and suppliers. Apart from that, a project will only be successful if its design, prizing, timing and of course its location hits the right spot.

There are many benefits, both short and long-term, of investing in off-plan villas and apartments on the Costa del Sol.  Make a right choice of whom you know and trust!

For buyers these newly built apartments and villas could be highly attractive pricewise plus in terms of “cherry-picking” the best unit available. Skiing and snowboarding is one of the most popular sports in the winter season. Whoever chooses the Sierra Nevada as a holiday or excursion destination has the unique opportunity to go skiing or snowboarding in the mornings on more than 3,000 m and to surf or bathe in the afternoons on the nearby beaches of the Mediterranean coast. The journey takes about one hour from the Sierra Nevada to the coast.

The ski season in Pradollano, the highest peak in Spain, lasts from November (when the first snow falls here) to May. The Sierra Nevada is a very innovative ski resort in terms of the service required for skiing and snowboarding fans:

• A daily groomed snow park with various kickers, rails and a half pipe.
• A high number of gondolas and chairlifts, which the boarders in particular enjoy.
• Wide slopes and the interesting terrain off the slopes (jumps and deep snow slopes).
• Numerous specialist shops, ski and board rentals and ski schools.
• Cozy après-pubs with splendid sun terraces and an exciting nightlife.
• Cheap to high-priced accommodation and hotels.

The Sierra Nevada stretches west-east along a part of the southern Mediterranean coast of Spain. Partly, the steep slopes reach as far as the Mediterranean, as for example in and around Almería. The highest peak is the Mulhacén (3,482 m), followed by Pico del Veleta (3,397 m) and Alcazaba (3,392 m). The melting water of the Sierra Nevada provides the surrounding area, including the greenhouse cultures in Almería, the Vega of Granada and the cities of Granada and Almería with drinking water. The most famous mineral water brand in Spain, Lanjarón, also draws its water from a source in the homonymous place in the Alpujarras, which form the southern side of the mountains.
Via the village of Pradollano (also known as Sol y Nieve) you reach the summit of the Pico del Veleta over the highest road in Europe. With your own car you can drive to the Hoya de la Mora (2,500 m). If you want to get up to Veleta, you have to walk, by bike or by buses of the national park. Sol y Nieve is an artificially created winter sports resort in which the Alpine World Ski Championships were supposed to be held in 1995. However, as that year saw no snow in the Sierra Nevada, the event was postponed to the 1996 Alpine Skiing World Championship. In addition, the 2000 World Mountain Bike Championships took place here. The next major events were the Winter Universiade 2015, followed by the now in March 2017 World Championship in freestyle skiing and snowboarding, for which one of the largest snow parks in Europe was built in 2013.

From March 7.-19.: The Freestyle Ski and Snowboarding World Championship 2017 will take place in the Sierra Nevada!
